Dimitri Athanitis was born in Athens where he studied cinema and architecture. His film 2000+1 Shots was selected by the Australian film critic Bill Mousoulis among the ten best films for 2001, while No Sympathy for the Devil won first prize for best actress at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival in 1997.
