Liviu lives with his parents in a small Romanian town. He sells stolen goods for a living and is having an affair with his best friend’s fiancée. His world is small. It consists of the building where he was born and spent his childhood; his former schoolmates, who drift aimlessly, waiting for a better life; the nearby pub; the corrupt policeman whom he has to pay in order to continue his illegal affairs; and his ex-girlfriends, who are now dating other guys from the neighborhood. Liviu’s greatest dream is to have money and be able to travel to the seaside. Director’s statement: “In this film I wanted to describe a world stuck in a never-ending period of transition, a world that repeats the mistakes made in the past. Liviu, the main character, is a young man who lives with the fear of the past. He despises his father for the wrong decisions he made, decisions that determined his destiny. Inevitably, this fear makes him repeat his father’s mistakes.”
