In the corridors of Stortinget (the Norwegian Parliament), we meet Jens Stoltenberg. He has a great mission he’d like to carry out: to rebuild the Labor Party after its disastrous election defeat in 2001 and return as the country’s next prime minister. The film depicts Stoltenberg’s two-year-long journey through a country and a people with an oil fund of over a thousand billion Norwegian kroner in the bank, but where many people are looking for a change. It also shows Jens Stoltenberg in intimate and private situations, in which his true human face replaces his established political appearance. The journey ends with Stolenberg climbing up all the 16 flights of steps to the Prime Minister’s office at the very top of the building on the day he is appointed new Prime Minister. He has completed his political project, but more important is the process he had to go through: to regain faith in his own statements and in himself.

Aslaug Holm, 40, director and photographer, enlisted for this film a team of fellow filmmakers who shot and produced one of the most popular films of the last decade: Cool and Crazy.
