Based on the beloved children’s fantasy novel by Cornelia Funke, The Thief Lord is about two brothers who flee an orphanage for the city their mother loved: Venice. Living in an abandoned old cinema, they discover the “Lord of the Thieves,” a charismatic youth who leads a sweet gang of rogue children. On a series of nocturnal Robin Hood-esque adventures, the kids steal the missing component of an ancient magical carousel. Navigating the old Venetian streets and canals they discover mystery and a thrilling and unforgettable world of enchantment that will leave them all changed forever. – DG
