OPENING NIGHT-BIG CROWDS!
Riverview Theater: 4/20/06
More than 700 people – a standing room only crowd –packed the Riverview Theater Thursday night for the opening of the Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Festival. Tim Russell, WCCO-AM radio personality, emceed the opening which included an address from Minneapolis Mayor RT Rybak and Al Milgrom, the 83-year-old patriarch of the film fest. The opening film was Al Franken: God Spoke, a documentary which follows Franken – who was present and spoke to the audience afterward – through his much publicized feud with Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly and to the re-election of George W. Bush. Following the film, more than 400 people attended the opening night gala at the Sea Salt Eatery in Minnehaha Falls Park.
